Sessions take place in a safe and relaxing environment.
How Reiki & Bhakti Massage Can Help You
Reiki Therapy & Bhakti Massage are extremely effective modalities implemented to help the body restore balance and energy flow.
It strengthens our natural ability to heal by encouraging balance within the body. It is a powerful hands-on method of stress reduction and relaxation which directly increases circulation and immune system function.
I use a hands-on Reiki technique similar to acupressure that targets all major energy points in the body.
All Reiki sessions can be combined with Bhakti massage to enhance the overall effectiveness of the treatment.
Bhakti massage is a full-body flow massage. It combines the relaxing techniques of a typical Swedish massage but emphasizes constant movement (with long, slow, deep flowing strokes) with various pressure options.
Bhakti massage technique does not over-manipulate the soft tissue or muscle fiber. Therefore, it minimizes the body’s inflammatory response.
In-studio sessions are conducted on a special Vibroacoustic massage table that is equipped with high-frequency sound transducers that send healing vibrations throughout the body.
The vibrational frequency resonates all of the cells in the body helping to release toxins.
It can also disrupt the pain reflex creating a deep sense of relaxation and overall well-being.
All modalities are designed to complement one another offering a maximum benefit to the client.
Vibroacoustic Therapy (VAT)
Vibroacoustic Therapy uses sound waves and vibrations that are applied directly to the body. During the vibroacoustic therapy process, a client lies on the specially designed massage table that is equipped with special high-fidelity, low frequency I-Beam speakers called sound transducers. The transducers deliver sound vibrations through the body (ranging from 20-100 Hz) in a soothing, fluid motion that we liken to an "internal massage," Both vibrational wave patterns and frequencies can be adjusted to meet the specific treatment needs of the client.
The vibro-tactile input stimulates nerve bundles along the spine, up into the brainstem and then through the limbic system. In addition to affecting the brain, (VAT) also provides deep physical cellular stimulation to skin, muscles and joints, much like vibrating muscle massagers, but deeper acting.
Researchers have observed decreased pain and increased mobility when (VAT) is applied to the rest of the body. In addition, the low frequencies cause a relaxation of the tissues, and a dilation of blood vessels and opening of the lymphatic pathways which in turn, increases the body's ability to heal.
Vibroacoustic Therapy is based on the principle that life is vibration. Matter, including the human body, (which is composed mainly of water - approximately 70% for an adult) vibrates all the time, at various frequencies. The vibrational frequency resonates all of the cells in the body helping to release toxins, and loosen or remove energetic blockages.
Vibroacoustic Therapy benefits include calming the nervous system, slowing down respiration and heart rate. It can also disrupt the pain reflex creating a sense of relaxation and well-being.

I am an experienced Holistic Practitioner and a firm believer in taking a holistic approach to healing.
I specialize in a variety of holistic treatment services that address the root causes and not just the symptoms of pain and ailments.
Through my practice, I strive to align clients and promote well-being in order to keep the mind, body and spirit healthy.
The combination of Holistic Practitioner, Teacher and Musician (violinist/violist) provide me with a unique understanding and advanced knowledge of how (sound vibration, resonance and frequencies) affect the body both physically and mentally. I have extensive practical experience working with clients using a variety of modalities including Sound Meditation, Vibroacoustic Therapy, Reiki and Bhakti Massage to manage pain, alleviate stress, anxiety and to restore balance.
EDUCATION:
Shawn Verfaillie-
(Certified Reiki Master) received his Bachelor of Musical Arts Degree in Viola Performance with a concentration in Near Eastern Studies and Egyptology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and holds a Master of Arts Degree in Music Education and Violin Performance with a (Specialization in String Pedagogy) from Columbia University.
Additional studies include the Manhattan School of Music, New England Conservatory of Music and the Mozarteum Musik Akademie in Salzburg, Austria.
